Mechanical failure is the main cause of rescue boat callouts to yachts. The day includes basic maintenance and engine care, which will prevent most cases of engine failure.

The aim of the course is to give you an awareness of the main systems of a marine diesel engine and the ability to take simple measures to prevent mechanical breakdown at sea and rectify defects which do not require workshop support.

The course is held at Manly, Brisbane and includes course materials and coffee and tea.
